The swim leg of the 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg Remich – Région Moselle did not take place.
Because of the high temperatures leading up to the race, the Moselle River warmed to over 26° C (79° F). This spike in temperature caused blue-green algae to form in the water. For safety reasons, organizers officially cancelled the 1.9 km swim leg shortly before the scheduled start, converting the event into a bike-and-run-only race.
