2026 T100 events
All T100 Triathlon events are qualifiers for the Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championships.
The T100 Triathlon World Tour began in 2024 as the successor to the PTO Tour and is the result of a long-term partnership between the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) and World Triathlon (the sport’s international governing body).
Here is a brief history and the context for the 2026 calendar:
🚀 Inaugural Years: 2024 and 2025
- Launch (2024): The series was launched in January 2024. It immediately positioned itself as the “official World Championship tour of long distance triathlon” for the unique 100km distance (2km swim, 80km bike, 18km run).
- Original Format (2024-2025): The early years featured a calendar of elite races where professional athletes were largely contracted to compete in a set number of events (initially eight, then revised to seven, and nine in 2025) plus a Grand Final. This gave top long-distance triathletes a guaranteed, regular income for the first time.
- World Championship Final: The season concluded with a Grand Final (initially in Dubai in 2024, and then moving to a multi-year agreement in Qatar from 2025 through 2029).
🔄 The Evolution for 2026
The 2026 calendar represents a significant evolution in the structure of the tour, announced by the PTO and World Triathlon in late 2025:
- Nine-Race “Race To Qatar” Calendar: The 2026 calendar is confirmed to have nine stops leading up to the T100 World Championship Final in Qatar in December.
- Separate Pro Races: A major change for 2026 is that the elite men’s and women’s races will be held on separate T100 weekends (with a few exceptions/partnerships).
- Removal of Season-Long Contracts: The 2026 format removes the season-long contract commitments for professional athletes, though they are still expected to compete. The World Championship ranking will be based on an athlete’s best three T100 results plus the Final.
- Age-Group Integration: Almost every stop on the tour is a “festival of multisport,” offering the 100km distance and other races (like Sprint Triathlon) for age-group/amateur athletes on the same iconic courses as the pros.
🗓️ The Confirmed T100 World Tour Calendar for 2026
